This is how we slay our demons... some people call it an exorcism, we call it a Witchburn. It’s not about religion nor is it anti-religious or anti-pagan or anti-wiccan. It’s a figure of speech, our analogy for hunting down those things that have haunted you over the years, facing ghosts from the past and conquering personal demons. The witch-burning that took place during the great witch-panics or what is also known as ’the burning times’ is a prime example of ignorance run amok and how those consumed by such blindness and narrow-mindedness often prejudge - and more often than not, misjudge - in so many ways. Driven by fear, they persecute that which they do not understand... and so it continues. If they don’t understand you, they want to burn you, accuse you, blame you, frame you, arrest you, suspend you, ban you, expel you, convict you, and imprison you. Our music is the fire that empowers us to stand up for who we are and what we believe, we invite you to stand up and be counted - whoever you are, whatever you believe.
We’ve been on trial our whole lives and now, with our whole hearts and our metal horns up high, we will be purified in the flames that surround us, allowing the smoke from our own burning times to finally disperse...
