As the WWE Fan Nation determines the fate of the Straightedge Champion on WWE.com, many of them may loathe Estrada more and more with each vote cast. Unscathed by this notion, the crafty Cuban General Manager argued that “there is a reason I make a lot of money to make such important decisions.”
“The reason I decided to put Big Daddy V, The Miz and John Morrison in the Cyber Sunday ECW Championship Match is because they are the three most qualified people in ECW,” Estrada snapped. “Anyone watching ECW on Sci Fi saw these three men earn key victories; they are the top contenders as far as I’m concerned.”
Estrada actually has a point. The dominant Big Daddy V took Punk beyond the limit at No Mercy and nearly squeezed the gold off the Straightedge Superstar. For weeks, The Miz has stringed a series of wins over just about every ECW Original, along with myriad others. And of course, Morrison himself pinned Punk in a non-title match earlier this week, live on Sci Fi.
Nobody can deny that CM Punk facing any of these three men will be a premiere contest of dynamic, talented performers. Despite this indelible truth, the WWE Fan Nation may have been perturbed to find several of their favorite ECW Superstars absent from the Cyber Sunday ballot – namely, Tommy Dreamer.
“Dreamer did a lot of great things for ECW,” Estrada admitted, “but that was 10 years ago…15 years ago…hey, that was 30 years ago. The bottom line is: Tommy Dreamer, just like Janet Jackson, what have you done for me lately?”
Lately, Dreamer was, in essence, dispossessed of an ECW Championship Match against CM Punk at No Mercy. Just when it seemed he’d won the multi-week Elimination Chase, it was revealed by Estrada that Big Daddy V was a last minute entrant in the competition. In mere minutes, the 500-pounder squashed the already exhausted body of Dreamer, along with the ECW Original’s championship dreams.
Judging by the support he received from hordes of ECW Die Hards, it seemed like everyone wanted to see Dreamer face CM Punk for the title. Regrettably, the last person in his corner might be the ECW GM.
“I’ve got nothing personal against Dreamer,” Estrada disputed. “He was a great ECW Champion – for one night in the 1990s – and is an ECW icon. However, it’s all about the young lions. Sorry, Tommy – next time.”
There may never be a next time for competitors like Tommy Dreamer, as long as Estrada is in power. Fortunately, that power is temporarily limited with the onset of the most interactive event of the year, Cyber Sunday. But after General Manager Armando Estrada worked his magic and added an unexpected round to the competition, Big Daddy V emerged as the challenger to the Straightedge Superstar’s gold.
Earlier in the night, CM Punk announced that while he was concerned with Burke and Dreamer’s contest to face him, he had a very big problem to deal with in Big Daddy V. He sent the behemoth a message, admitting he and Striker had gotten the champion’s attention, and then went on to defeat Mike Knox. By the end of the evening, that big problem became a big reality.
Speaking of titles, Mr. McMahon announced Tuesday night that the WWE Championship is now vacant. History will be made at No Mercy, however, as the situation is rectified
Also on ECW on Sci Fi, Balls Mahoney finally got the answer he’s been waiting for. He just might not have liked it. After two weeks of being pulled away from the ECW Original, Kelly Kelly told Balls she would go out with him. Unfortunately, The Miz quickly came to her side and, despite Mahoney physically getting the better of The Miz, the self-proclaimed chick magnet revealed his ability to terminate Kelly from ECW.

8ATLANTA – The Land of the Extreme is a world that revolves around the ECW Championship. ECW on Sci Fi exemplified just that when Elijah Burke, Kevin Thorn, Tommy Dreamer and Stevie Richards explained why they should each be CM Punk's next challenger.
After arguing over who deserves the title opportunity the most, the four Superstars had their decision made for them by General Manager Armando Estrada. An Elimination Chase to No Mercy would determine CM Punk’s No Mercy opponent for the gold. The competition commenced as soon as Estrada finished, as the four squared off in a Fatal Four Way Match. Three would remain eligible to confront each other once again, but whoever fell victim to a pin would face elimination.
ECW on Sci Fi featured another huge match – literally – when Big Daddy V took on Boogeyman. The worm enthusiast put up a good fight, but the massive monster proved to be too much man for him when the student flattened the closet lurker. The match served as the climax thus far to one of ECW’s biggest rivalries, and as proof that there truly is nothing that can stop Big Daddy V.
Earlier in the night, Extreme Exposé put on a show for our fans once again. The best seat in the house, though, belonged to Kelly Kelly’s Balls Mahoney bear, which sat in the corner of the ring. After the performance, Mahoney redeemed last week’s loss to Mike Knox with a convincing win. But his real reason for celebrating that night came when he grabbed the microphone and asked Kelly out. She smiled, then got pulled backstage by The Miz and the other Exposé members before she could answer. Nonetheless, Mahoney announced that he would take that as a yes.
